Patchogue Village Community Development Agency (CDA)

The Patchogue Village CDA convened on February 2 to open its public hearing for 2026’s CDBG-funded projects. With an estimated $150,000 available, the agency focused on projects to enhance safety, accessibility, and quality of life.

The committee reviewed sidewalk repairs along Division Street and River Avenue, where deteriorating conditions and ADA noncompliance remain concerns. Also highlighted was the Bay Avenue area near the Joseph E. Keys Recreation Center, where improved access through existing greenways could connect more residents to outdoor space.

Notably, Father Tortora Park emerged as a potential site for installing solar-powered smart benches, offering Wi-Fi and device charging. The board also discussed the feasibility of using a portion of funds for homelessness outreach, though new federal documentation requirements may delay implementation.

Public input is still encouraged before final project selection, expected in early March. Residents can share feedback with the CDA or attend the next public budget hearing on March 2, 2026.
