"Confessions of a Mulatto Love Child": A Unique Mother's Day Celebration with Isabella Rossellini and Laura Dern

This Mother's Day, May 12, 2024, offers a one-of-a-kind theatrical treat as Isabella Rossellini and Laura Dern present "Confessions of a Mulatto Love Child" at a special one-night-only event. Written and performed by actress Bellina Logan, this one-woman show explores her multicultural heritage and complex relationship with her mother, who she humorously compares to a union between Maggie Smith and Shaft.

Isabella Rossellini will host the evening, sharing anecdotes about her own famous mother, Ingrid Bergman, adding a personal touch to the already intimate performance. The show promises to be a blend of humor and poignancy, providing audiences with a deep dive into themes of identity, time, and memory through Logan's engaging storytelling.

Additionally, the event serves as a fundraiser for The Gateway and Rossellini's non-profit, Mama Farm in Bellport. Attendees will also have the opportunity to join a special post-show VIP reception with the artists for an additional charge.

Community members are invited to join this memorable evening. Tickets are available now for those who wish to experience this unique blend of laughter and reflection, making it a perfect outing for Mother's Day. For tickets and more information, please visit the event's official website.

Suffolk Man Sentenced to 15 Years for Drug and Gun Charges

Levoughan McKinnie, a resident of Bellport, has been sentenced to 15 years in prison followed by five years of post-release supervision after pleading guilty to numerous weapon and drug charges. The sentence was handed down just as his trial was about to begin, according to Suffolk County District Attorney Ray Tierney. The charges stem from a January 2023 raid where Suffolk police found cocaine, a loaded pistol, and other drug paraphernalia in a home frequented by McKinnie. DA Tierney emphasized the significance of the case, praising local law enforcement for their role in preventing the distribution of dangerous drugs in the community. McKinnie, with prior felony convictions, was also recently apprehended after fleeing from police.
