The Gateway Celebrates 75 Years with a Season of Nostalgia, Laughter, and Heartfelt Stories"

This season at The Gateway promises a spectacular journey through time and emotion as it celebrates its 75th anniversary. Opening the season is the Tony Award-nominated musical "Rock of Ages" (May 3 - June 2, 2024). This high-energy show transports audiences back to the era of 1980s rock, complete with over 25 iconic hits and a heartwarming tale of dreams and romance on LA's Sunset Strip.

Adding a unique touch to the Mother's Day celebrations, "Confessions of a Mulatto Lovechild" will grace the stage on May 12, 2024. Written and performed by Bellina Logan and hosted by Isabella Rossellini with an appearance by Laura Dern, the show offers a poignant, humorous look at identity and legacy against the backdrop of Hollywood's golden era. The evening will also support local and national charities, including Rossellini's Mama Farm.

To enhance the viewing experience, The Gateway introduced a new app that simplifies ticket purchasing and snack pre-orders, ensuring a seamless visit. Patrons looking for value can opt for a season pass, which includes perks like premium seating and flexible ticket exchanges, celebrating this milestone season with all the flexibility and benefits longtime supporters and new visitors alike can enjoy.

Craft Brewing Resilience: America's Top 50 Craft Breweries of 2023

Despite a challenging year, the American craft brewing industry has shown remarkable resilience and adaptability. The Brewers Association recently unveiled its annual rankings for 2023, highlighting the largest craft breweries across the nation. This report provides insights into the industry's current state and showcases evolving trends and growth strategies.

In 2023, the craft brewing sector hit a new high with 9,683 breweries, employing over 191,000 individuals. Even though overall production dipped slightly by 1.0% from the previous year, the economic impact remained strong due to the premium pricing of craft beers. This slight decline in volume contrasts with the continued rise in brewery numbers, indicating a competitive but robust market.

Leading the list are established names like D. G. Yuengling and Son Inc, Boston Beer Co, and Sierra Nevada Brewing Co. Notably, the list also includes innovative players like Tilray Beer Brands, which incorporates Patchogue's own Bluepoint Brewery. These companies exemplify the industry's larger trends, where traditional brewing methods coexist with creative strategies to captivate consumer interest.

This comprehensive list of the top 50 craft breweries offers a snapshot of an industry that, while experiencing a slowdown in explosive growth, still demonstrates vitality and a knack for innovation. As these breweries navigate the complexities of market demands and consumer preferences, their contributions bolster local economies and enrich the broader cultural landscape of American brewing.
