Welcome to summer, official with the summer solstice on June 20 at 4:50pm.

With the change in season, we are making a change in our editorial direction here at Patchogue Live Local. We are going to make some changes in the format and how we report stories. Hopefully it will be even more useful and entertaining in just a 5 minute read.

Starting Monday June 24th, we will go to publishing Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. We will also looking for people in the community that would like to contribute to the content we publish.

Island Romance and Buffett Tunes: The Perfect Summer Musical at The Gateway

Starting tonight, June 21st, and running through July 21st, The Gateway in Bellport, NY, is presenting a musical comedy brimming with Jimmy Buffett's beloved classics, “Escape to Margaritaville”. Bellport Village Election Results Announced

The results of the Bellport Village election held on June 20, 2024, are in, and the community has spoken. Two trustee positions for a 2-year term were contested. Steven Mackin received 67 votes, while Nathan Rohrmeier garnered 68 votes, securing his position as a trustee.

For the Village Justice 4-year term, Kerri Lechtrecker emerged victorious with 59 votes. Additionally, Janine Roe received a write-in vote for each candidate position.

Annual Teacher Feature BBQ Set for June 26

Calling all teachers! The annual Teacher Feature BBQ is set to take place on Friday, June 26th, at the Dublin Deck in Patchogue. This special event is a fantastic way for educators to unwind and celebrate the end of the school year.

For just $10, attendees can enjoy a delicious BBQ buffet and an afternoon filled with fun and entertainment. Doors open at 11 a.m., and the festivities include live music by Souled Out and Southbound, along with tunes from DJ Salty Jim.

Patchogue Community Blood Drive Offers Mets Tickets and Shirts to Donors

The Patchogue Community Blood Drive is happening on Tuesday, July 2, 2024, at the Patchogue Family YMCA, located at 255 W Main St, Patchogue, NY. The event kicks off at 12:00 PM and offers a great incentive for those who participate: donors will receive NY Mets tickets and a Mets shirt!

Community contributor Shauna Lynch invites everyone to make a difference by donating blood. While appointments are encouraged, walk-ins are welcome. To schedule an appointment, visit nybc.org/blood or text 732-616-8736.

Medford is hosting a Community Blood Drive on Tuesday, July 2, 2024, at the Medford Fire House, located at 171 Oregon Ave, Medford, NY. The event begins at 1:30 PM, and participants have a special incentive to donate: NY Mets tickets and a Mets shirt!
