Patchogue Fall Festival

Patchogue’s annual fall festival once again brought warmth and cheer to the community on Saturday, October 19, as attendees flocked to Main Street for a fun-filled day of seasonal activities. One of the main highlights were the chili tasting contest chowder tasting contest.

My wife and I only participated in the chill contest which drew 15 contestants serving up their best versions of the hearty dish. Thirteen of the chili dishes were sampled, two had run out by the time we got there.

Our top contenders were in no particular order, Whiskey Neat, Arooga, Standard Rec, Village Idiot, and Chops, who all impressed with their unique flavors. Looking forward to seeing who is the official winner will be when announced.

The festival, running from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., also featured live music, pumpkin decorating, and Halloween-themed fun for all ages. The streets were packed with residents and visitors enjoying the bright autumn day, delicious food, and sense of community that Patchogue’s fall festival never fails to deliver. For those looking to reconnect with neighbors or make new memories, this festival once again hit the mark.
