🚧 The westbound Long Island Expressway in Yaphank has reopened after a serious crash near exit 66 left one person ejected and critically injured. The roadway was shut down for several hours Monday afternoon before reopening around 5 p.m. [Daily Voice]

🔥 A man was injured in one of four separate fires that broke out over the weekend in Brookhaven Town including Bellport, according to Suffolk police. Investigations are ongoing to determine the causes of the blazes. [Patch]

🧾 The father of a 14-year-old East Patchogue girl who was missing for 25 days and placed at a state psychiatric facility plans to sue Suffolk County, claiming her constitutional rights were violated after she was placed there as a sex trafficking victim. [Newsday]

🚗 A 29-year-old man's car caught fire while driving on Montauk Highway in Patchogue Monday night, prompting him to pull over as flames emerged from the hood. North Patchogue firefighters quickly extinguished the blaze, and no injuries or property damage were reported. [Patch]

🚑 A 33-year-old East Patchogue woman was seriously injured Monday afternoon when the SUV she was riding in struck a guardrail on the Long Island Expressway near Exit 67 in Yaphank. The crash happened after the driver attempted to change lanes and collided with another vehicle, police said. [Patch]
