Celebrate Earth Day with Wildflower Seed Bombs at the Teen Center at Patchogue-Medford Carnegie Library

Mark your calendars for Saturday, April 20th, from 2:30 PM to 3:30 PM, and visit the Teen Center at Patchogue-Medford Carnegie Library for a special Earth Day celebration designed specifically for teens in grades 6-12. This unique event combines the art of crafting with environmental education.

Participants will have the opportunity to create their own wildflower seed bombs using recycled paper. This event is tailored for teens, providing an inspiring and educational way to celebrate Earth Day. All necessary materials will be provided, so just bring your creativity and enthusiasm!

Patchogue-Medford High School Sports Recap: Thursday, April 11

Patchogue-Medford High School had an eventful day in sports competitions this Thursday. Here's a snapshot of how each team performed:

- Boys Badminton: Faced a tough challenge from Half Hollow Hills, losing 8-1.

- Girls Badminton: Also competed against Half Hollow Hills, resulting in a 9-0 defeat.

- Girls Flag Football: Showcased a strong performance by dominating Sachem North with a 34-6 victory.

- Girls Golf: Played against Bellport, ending with a score of 7.5 to 1.5 in Bellport's favor.

- Softball: Achieved a close win over William Floyd, finishing 3-1.

- Girls Lacrosse: Encountered a strong Commack HS team and lost 13-5.

- Baseball: Overcame Shoreham-Wading River with a 13-5 victory.

Bellport High School Sports Roundup: Thursday, April 11

Bellport High School athletes had a day of mixed outcomes in various sporting events this past Thursday. From lacrosse to track and golf, here’s how our teams fared in their respective competitions:

- Boys Lacrosse: Sayville defeated Bellport with a score of 18-2.

- Girls Track: Bellport triumphed over West Islip, 78-58.

- Girls Golf: Bellport outplayed Patchogue-Medford, winning 7.5-1.5.

- Baseball: West Islip took the win against Bellport, 8-2.

- Boys Track: West Islip came out ahead, with a final score of 81-60 against Bellport.

Despite the day’s challenges and victories, Bellport athletes demonstrated commendable effort and sportsmanship. As we continue through the season, we look forward to more spirited performances and growth from all our teams.

Harmonious Excellence: Patchogue-Medford Choral Ensembles Shine at NYSSMA

In a remarkable display of musical talent, four Patchogue-Medford choral ensembles received top honors at the recent NYSSMA (New York State School Music Association) Choral Majors, showcasing the vibrant and diverse talents within our school district.

The highest accolades went to the Patchogue-Medford High School's choral ensemble and treble choir, both of which achieved a Level VI Gold with Distinction—the pinnacle of NYSSMA ratings. Their performances were distinguished by a challenging and diverse selection of music that clearly resonated with the judges. Additionally, the high school's festival chorus earned a commendable Level IV Silver.

Not be outdone, the younger voices of Medford Elementary School’s fourth and fifth-grade chorus also shone brightly, securing a Level I Silver. Their accomplishment at such an early stage in their musical education speaks volumes about the nurturing environment and the quality of instruction they receive.
