🚨 A 61-year-old motorcyclist from East Patchogue was seriously injured after colliding with a pickup truck in the HOV lane of the Long Island Expressway near exit 58. The crash occurred Monday morning, and both vehicles were impounded for safety checks. Daily Voice
🚔 Police released an image of a white Jeep SUV suspected in a North Bellport hit-and-run that injured two teens Friday night. The teens were struck while crossing Station Road, with one suffering serious injuries and the other minor injuries. ABC7 New York
🚨 Two brothers from Shirley are facing multiple weapons charges after a fight involving a gun broke out near Hallock Park in East Patchogue during a youth football game over the weekend. Police say no shots were fired and the incident, which happened on the street behind the park, may not have been related to the Patchogue‑Medford vs. Bellport game. News 12 Long Island
🚆 LIRR riders will see fare increases averaging 4.4% starting in January, after the MTA board approved the hike along with a new rule that drastically shortens ticket validity. Instead of lasting 60 days, all tickets will now expire at 4 a.m. the day after purchase. News 12 Long Island
🦉 Brookhaven Town will permanently close the controversial Holtsville ecology site in early 2026, following years of criticism over animal care and the death of a black bear named Honey. Animal advocates welcomed the decision, which was included in the town’s newly approved budget. Greater Long Island
