Brimfield & Elephant's Trunk-Style Market Comes to Town!

Brimfield and Elephant's Trunk, two iconic flea markets known for their vast and eclectic offerings, serve as the inspiration for this local market event. Slated to bring a similar vibe but on a more intimate scale, this upcoming market promises to be a treasure trove for enthusiasts and casual browsers alike.

Set to take place outdoors, the event is designed with spaciousness in mind, allowing everyone to explore freely without the typical squeeze. Donations to the Bellport Brookhaven Historical Society to secure a table.

Bringing Nature Home

In a special community event titled "Bringing Nature Home," Professor Doug Tallamy, an acclaimed ecologist and pioneer of the "Homegrown National Park" movement, will share his expertise on transforming our own backyards into havens for vital pollinators. Scheduled for Saturday, May 25th from 4 to 7 PM EDT at 4 Bell Street, Bellport, NY, this initiative is part of the inspiring 1000 Yards Campaign.

Professor Tallamy's best-selling books and his groundbreaking work have sparked a significant movement across the nation, focusing on creating habitats that sustain the food chains necessary for all life, including humans. His talk will illuminate the crucial roles our private gardens play in ecological conservation and how simple changes can make a big impact.

The event ends with a reception and a book signing session at the Bellport Brookhaven Historical Society from 6 PM onwards. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet Professor Tallamy, gain personalized insights, and contribute to a larger ecological movement right from their own yards.
