Patchogue Arts Councilā€™s 2023: A Year of Growth and Community Impact

The Patchogue Arts Council (PAC) has unveiled its 2023 Annual Review, highlighting significant economic and social contributions to Long Island. The Councilā€™s initiatives have generated substantial community benefits, including millions in economic impact, job support, and enriched cultural experiences.

In 2023, the Patchogue Arts Council (PAC) solidified its role as a cornerstone of cultural and economic vitality in Long Island. The Annual Review revealed that PACā€™s activities contributed $32.3 million to the local economy, supported 376 jobs, and generated $17.6 million in resident income. Additionally, PACā€™s programs infused $6.7 million into local, state, and federal government revenues.

The year was marked by a range of successful events, including MoCA L.I.ghts and Arts on Terry, which collectively attracted over 11,000 attendees. PACā€™s commitment to public art was showcased through various projects like the Annual Sculpture Garden, mural installations, and collaborations with the Patchogue-Medford Library for groundbreaking technology initiatives in augmented reality.

PACā€™s PEACE Project, in partnership with Eastern Suffolk BOCES, continued to empower educators and students, achieving a 96% effectiveness rating in integrating arts into education. The Council also strengthened its community ties through collaborations with local businesses and organizations, fostering inclusive and accessible arts experiences.

The report underscores PACā€™s dedication to creating a vibrant, interconnected community through the arts, with plans for future growth, including a new arts center set to begin construction in East Patchogue in 2024.
