🎓 Long Island school leaders emphasized kindness, equity, and student-focused leadership at SCOPE Education Services’ 40th Annual Dinner in Oakdale. Bayport-Blue Point Superintendent Timothy Hearney joined fellow SCOPE board members in welcoming new superintendents and trustees while urging districts to make meaningful moments for students. 🌍 Patchogue-based Environmental Assessment & Remediations (EAR) has been acquired by LaBella Associates, expanding the international firm’s environmental services footprint across New York. EAR has tackled major remediation projects from Suffolk County to Brooklyn and had previously partnered with LaBella on groundwater modeling. LIBN

🏫 Southampton High School has appointed Derek Robinson, formerly an assistant principal at Patchogue-Medford High School, as its new principal. Robinson brings over two decades of experience in education and says he’s committed to building strong relationships with students, staff, and families. Greater Long Island

🛡️ NYS Senator Dean Murray and Assemblyman Jarett Gandolfo are hosting a Citizen Emergency Preparedness Training Course on October 9 at the Bayport-Blue Point Public Library.
