  • 🚔 A 4-car crash on North Ocean Avenue in Patchogue sent one vehicle crashing through the front of a storefront just before 1 p.m. Saturday, leaving the store with visible damage but no reported injuries inside. One driver was taken to the hospital with injuries that are not life-threatening, and police are still investigating what caused the chain-reaction collision. News 12 Long Island

  • 🚔 Police are searching for a suspect who stole over $1,300 worth of cologne from Ulta Beauty in Patchogue on Jan. 13 around 4:15 p.m., with security footage showing the man in an orange cap, white t-shirt, and white sneakers. The theft has been classified as grand larceny, and Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward for tips leading to an arrest. Patch

  • 🏛️ The Patchogue Community Development Agency will hold a public hearing on Monday, February 2 at 6:00 PM to discuss priority projects for the FY2026 Community Development Block Grant Program, followed by a Section 8 program report. Residents are also reminded that the public hearing period for the FY2027–FY2030 budget remains open from February 1, 2024 through March 7, 2024. [Village of Patchogue]

  • ⚖️ The sisters of Sarah Goode, a 20-year-old Medford mother brutally murdered in 2014, joined state lawmakers Friday to push for “Sarah’s Law,” which would reinstate convictions vacated when a defendant dies during appeal. Her convicted killer took his own life in prison in 2017, and under a century-old legal rule, his guilty verdict was erased, leaving her family without legal closure. The proposed law would ensure convictions remain on record to uphold justice for victims and their families. Patch

  • 🚔 The Suffolk County Auxiliary Police is now recruiting volunteers to join the NYS Civil Defense Forces, offering training and the chance to assist SCPD in supporting local safety. Applicants must be at least 21 upon appointment, have a valid driver’s license, and hold a high school diploma or GED. Community members are encouraged to step up and serve where they live.
