🚔 Elizabeth Hunter, 34, pleaded not guilty to a superseding indictment in a case involving the disappearance of a Long Island girl who was missing for 25 days. While Hunter was previously charged with sex trafficking, her attorney says she must re-enter a plea due to two additional defendants being added to the case. • Hank Azaria & The EZ Street Band are performing their Springsteen Celebration tonight at 8:00 PM at the Patchogue Theatre for the Performing Arts. All net proceeds will benefit The Four Through Nine Foundation, supporting social justice, education, and recovery causes.

• The Using Our Voices Mental Health Run is coming to Patchogue-Medford High School on April 6, 2025! This student-led event unites multiple school districts to promote mental health awareness and provide vital resources for students across Long Island. Last year, they raised $20,000 and had 700+ students participate for free—all proceeds go to mental health organizations. Be part of this inspiring movement and make a difference! • The Bellport Chamber of Commerce is hosting its annual Easter Bonnet & Crazy Hat Parade on Saturday, April 19, 2025. Participants are encouraged to showcase their most creative and whimsical hats. The parade will begin at 11:00 AM at the Firehouse.

• The Plaza Cinema & Media Arts Center is screening Blue Velvet on Monday, March 31, at 7:00 PM as part of its David Lynch Film Series. Tickets start at $6. Plaza Cinema

Call for Artists: Patchogue Arts Council Seeks Muralist for Library Project

The Patchogue Arts Council, in collaboration with the Patchogue-Medford Library, is inviting muralists to submit proposals for a temporary mural to be displayed on the rear wall of the library. This large-scale artwork, measuring approximately 15 feet high by 45 feet long, will reflect the 2025 summer reading theme, Color Our World.

The mural will be prominently placed, serving as a backdrop for numerous community events throughout 2025-2026. Artists with prior mural experience are encouraged to apply, as the selected muralist will receive a $2,000 stipend to support the planning, design, and execution of the project. Additionally, supplies will be provided by a local vendor, and the Patchogue Arts Council will collaborate with the library to document the creative process through professional photography and video.

Submissions are due by April 8, 2025, with the chosen artist being notified via email by May 1, 2025. The installation period will take place between June 1-20, 2025, during which the artist will be responsible for bringing their vision to life on the prepared mural space.

This opportunity not only allows an artist to showcase their talent in a high-traffic community space but also contributes to the cultural vibrancy of Patchogue. Interested artists can submit their proposals at this link.

🏐 Yeshiva University’s Men’s Volleyball team fell to St. Joseph’s University Long Island in a 3-0 loss on March 25. Despite the defeat, Jonathan Werta led the Macs with five kills, while Amiti Trabelsi contributed a team-high eight assists and four digs. The team looks to regroup as the season winds down.

🥍 Farmingdale State men’s lacrosse surged past FDU-Florham with an 11-goal run, securing a dominant 14-7 victory. Thomas Stock led with a hat trick and three assists, while Tyler Kollar (Bellport) also netted three goals. The Rams (7-2) remain undefeated against Division III opponents and will face Marywood next.
