🎨 Thanks to a CHARM NY grant, Powers is embracing public art with the launch of the Powers Community Murals project, led by the Public Art with PAC initiative. The program aims to celebrate local identity and creativity by transforming walls into vibrant community-driven murals that reflect the town’s stories, values, and culture. [PAC instagram]
⚖️ A Riverhead man was sentenced to 25 years to life for fatally shooting his niece’s boyfriend, a 23-year-old, after a family dispute escalated in East Patchogue. Prosecutors say the victim was shot multiple times in front of his girlfriend following two confrontations on Aug. 18, 2023. Daily Voice.

🏐 Medford’s Rae Marrero tallied 81 assists over two matches as NJCU Women’s Volleyball wrapped up the regular season with a split. They edged Mount St. Mary in five sets before falling to John Jay in straight sets. Kai Fitzpatrick starred with 36 kills in the win and 11 more in the loss. NJCU Gothic Knights.
🏈 The three-time defending Suffolk IV champs Bayport-Blue Point steamrolled into the playoffs with a 56-28 win over Miller Place, rushing for 450 yards behind standout efforts from Colin Clark (160+ yards, 4 TDs) and Collin Reyer (140 yards, 3 TDs).
