Patchogue Board Meeting Highlights

At the November 24Th meeting of the Patchogue Village Board, officials and residents gathered to discuss critical community issues. One major development was the approval of a local law prohibiting the parking of trailers, RVs, and vessels on village streets at all times. This change, spurred by public safety concerns and resident complaints, replaces the previous overnight-only restriction and aims to improve street access and visibility.

In economic development, the village continues to move forward with its “Storefront to Shorefront” grant proposal. Village leaders expressed optimism about receiving the New York Forward funding by January.

The board celebrated another successful holiday boat parade, introduced new downtown and riverfront decorations, and approved the return of several community events, including the “It’s a Wonderful Life” village walk (December 13–14) and the YMCA's spring 5K run.

In recognition of longtime public servant Joe Keys, the Bay Avenue Recreation Center was officially renamed the Joseph E. Keys Jr. Recreation Center, a gesture applauded by a large turnout of residents and dignitaries.
