Local Towns March in Tribute This Memorial Day

Today, residents from Bayport, Blue Point, Patchogue, Medford, and Bellport will line the streets in a united show of remembrance and respect for those who gave their lives in service to the country. Each town has planned a parade beginning at 11:00 AM, followed by heartfelt ceremonies reflecting on the sacrifices made by local veterans and military families.

In Bayport, the parade will travel down Middle Road with a concluding ceremony at Memorial Park. Nearby in Blue Point, participants will gather on Blue Point Avenue and proceed to the Blue Point Fire Department for their tribute. Patchogue’s parade will step off from Rider Avenue along Main Street, continuing to Division Street and South Ocean Avenue, culminating in a community service of remembrance.

Medford’s marchers will assemble at Tremont Avenue School starting at 10:30 AM, with the parade beginning promptly at 11:00 AM. Meanwhile, Bellport will host its procession from Bell Street to Woodland Cemetery, offering a more intimate setting for reflection and tribute.

Residents are encouraged to attend, bring flags, and show support for local veterans groups and marching bands participating. These parades are more than tradition—they are moments of collective gratitude that reinforce the bonds within each town and the values they share.
