The Arts

Attention local artists!

The Patchogue Arts Council, in collaboration with the Patchogue-Medford Library, is inviting muralists to make their mark in the community. This opportunity is for the creation of a temporary mural to be displayed on the rear of the Patchogue-Medford Library. If you have prior experience in mural creation, this could be your chance to showcase your talent and receive a $2000 stipend to cover the planning, design, and execution of your work.

In addition to the stipend, the selected artist will be featured in an artist interview video, with potential opportunities for artist talks and workshop events, for which additional stipends are available. Your artwork will also gain extra visibility during the PAC's MoCA L.I.ghts projection festival through projection mapping, offering a unique interactive experience with your mural.

Interested? Make sure to submit your application by May 1st via the online form available (https://form.jotform.com/240636603536152). Selected artists will be notified by email on May 22nd. Installation of the mural will take place from June 1st to 15th, upon which the stipend will be released.

Annual Invitation for Exterior Sculptures

The esteemed Patchogue Arts Council is thrilled to extend an invitation to sculptors keen on showcasing their outdoor sculptures in the vibrant locale of Patchogue Village for the 2024 summer. The exposition, set within the verdant embrace of the Patchogue Garden Club Community Garden from June until the 15th of October 2024, marks a distinguished highlight of the PAC’s celebratory season.

Throughout October, in a blend with the PAC's Art Crossings 2024 festivities, the sculptures will stand as sentinels of creativity. The garden will transform into a gallery under the sky, hosting an array of sculptures. Creatives are urged to present both their pre-existing and freshly envisioned masterpieces for contemplation. For those works embraced by the council, artists will receive a stipend as a token of appreciation. The Visual Arts Committee of the Patchogue Arts Council will undertake the reviewal of submissions. It is imperative that all art pieces, destined to grace the outdoor spaces, conform to safety measures, are crafted from durable materials capable of withstanding the elements, and possess a nature that is both public-friendly and resilient to curious hands.

This yearly endeavor represents a collaboration between the Patchogue Arts Council, the Village of Patchogue, and the Patchogue Garden Club.

Founded on a once-desolate plot in 1996, the Patchogue Garden Club grew with the mission to craft and nurture a public garden. . Since 2014, the garden has also served as a platform for sculpture exhibitions, adding an artistic dimension to its verdant splendor.

Deadline for Submissions: May 1, 2024
Notification of Acceptance: By May 15, 2024, via email
