"Paint the Great South Bay 2024": A Celebration of Art and Community
The community and artists alike are gearing up for a showcase of talent and nature at the "Paint the Great South Bay 2024" event. Organized by the Patchogue Arts Council (PAC), this annual event offers local and visiting artists the opportunity to capture the scenic vistas of the Great South Bay en plein air, a method of painting outdoors that directly engages with the environment.
Registration for the event is now open, welcoming all artists to participate in this enriching experience. The painting period, set from May 24 to June 7, 2024, promises two weeks of artistic exploration and connection with nature. Following the painting phase, the works will be exhibited from June 9 to June 23, 2024, allowing the public to view and purchase original artworks that vividly depict local landscapes.
A special highlight of the event is the closing reception on June 23, 2024, from 3:00 to 5:00 PM, featuring guest juror Jim Minet. The reception will not only showcase the stunning collection of plein air pieces but will also honor the artists with cash prizes and additional awards provided by Silver Brush Limited, this year’s generous sponsor.
