A Season of Triumph: Patchogue-Medford Baseball Celebrates Coach Frascogna’s 300th Win and Honors Rising Stars"
The Patchogue-Medford High School baseball team opened their season on a high note, marking significant achievements including Coach Anthony Frascogna’s 300th career win. This milestone underscores his profound influence over 23 years, fostering a strong team spirit and a commitment to community service. In a heartwarming season opener, the Raiders claimed a 5-1 victory against Central Islip Senior High School, setting the stage for the celebratory moment.
Coach Frascogna, a local legend and a Patchogue-Medford alumnus, has nurtured not only potential major leaguers like Marcus Stroman but also a community-oriented spirit among his players. The season also spotlighted seniors Bryan Frascogna and Rob Melo, recognized among Newsday’s top 100 Long Island high school baseball players, with Bryan also excelling academically with a 103.7 GPA. Furthermore, the induction of new members into the Patchogue-Medford Baseball Hall of Fame, including Peter Feehan for his community service, added to the community’s pride.
The Raiders look forward to building on their rich history of success, as Coach Frascogna continues to inspire his players on and off the field. This season not only celebrates his professional achievements but also strengthens the bonds within the Patchogue-Medford community./
Evan Hasemann's Clutch Play Secures Bayport-Blue Point Win
In a high-stakes game against Shoreham-Wading River, Bayport-Blue Point's relief pitcher Evan Hasemann demonstrated exceptional composure under pressure. Entering a challenging bases-loaded, no-out situation, Hasemann efficiently navigated the Phantoms to a 6-4 victory by executing a sacrifice fly, a groundout, and a strikeout in just 11 pitches, thwarting a Wildcats' rally.
Coach Victor Manzella lauded Hasemann's ability to perform in high-pressure situations, describing him as having "ice in his veins." This pivotal win advances Bayport-Blue Point's record to 6-2 in the Suffolk VII series, setting the stage for a potential sweep in their final matchup. Hasemann's poised performance highlights his pivotal role in the team's success and resilience.

🦅 Update from Patchogue's Osprey Nest! 🦅
The beloved osprey couple in Patchogue has once again graced us with their presence, and this time, they're nurturing 2 speckled eggs in their nest! This follows last year's success where they hatched and raised 4 chicks, much to the delight of local wildlife enthusiasts.
Thanks to PSEG Long Island's commitment to both community and environmental stewardship, a high-quality, 24/7 live cam offers an intimate look into the lives of these magnificent birds, along with another pair in Oyster Bay. Viewers can rewind the live feed to catch special moments like meal deliveries — consisting exclusively of fish such as bunker, bluefish, and even koi — and observe their behavior during unique events like eclipses or thunderstorms.
For those interested in catching a glimpse of this natural spectacle, head over to the live cam and witness the wonders of nature unfold right from Patchogue. A big shoutout to Reddit user primeline31 from r/longisland for sharing this heartwarming update!
